Overview


Custom Values in TheraSaaS allow you to dynamically pull contact, company, and appointment information into your campaigns, automations, and internal notes. By using these placeholders (like {{contact.first_name}}), you can send personalized communications at scale and keep internal documentation standardized.

In this guide, you'll learn how to use Custom Values in:

  • Mass Emails & Texts

  • Automated Messages (Workflows)

  • Notes (Manual & Automated)


What Are Custom Values?

Custom Values are dynamic placeholders that automatically pull data from your contact records or system settings.
Example:

  • {{contact.first_name}} ➔ will turn into "John" for John Doe.

  • {{location.name}} ➔ will turn into your business name.


1️⃣ Using Custom Values in Mass Emails & Texts

Why Use This?

Custom Values make your bulk communications feel personal to each recipient.

Steps:

  1. Go to Marketing ➔ Email Campaigns or SMS Campaigns.  or go to Contacts and choose the Contacts you want to send the mass email/texts to

  2. Create a new campaign.

  3. In the message field, use Custom Values like:

    • {{contact.first_name}}

    • {{contact.email}}

    • {{company.website}}

  4. Click the custom value button to pick from available fields.

  5. Save and schedule/send your message.



Example Email:

Hi {{contact.first_name}},
Check out our new services at {{company.website}}!
Cheers,  {{user.name}}

2️⃣ Using Custom Values in Automated Messages (Workflows)

Why Use This?

Personalize automated messages across SMS, email, call whispers, and more — so every automation feels human.

Steps:

  1. Go to Automations ➔ Workflows.

  2. Open or create a Workflow.

  3. Add a Send Email or Send SMS step.

  4. In the message field, click {} to choose Custom Values.

  5. Insert fields like:

    • {{appointment.start_time}}

    • {{contact.phone}}

    • {{user.name}}



Example SMS:

Hey {{contact.first_name}}, your appointment is set for {{appointment.start_time}}. Reply YES to confirm!

3️⃣ Using Custom Values in Notes

Why Use This?

Quickly log personalized notes with accurate contact or opportunity data.


Steps (Automated):

  1. In a Workflow, add the action Add to Note.

  2. Use Custom Values inside the note field.

    Automated note: {{contact.first_name}} clicked the link in the latest email.
    or
    {{contact.How_did_you_hear_about_us}} - to immediately pull information from a certain field.


By using Custom Values, you can:

  • Send personalized mass emails and texts

  • Automate customized messages in workflows

  • Log accurate, dynamic notes
    All without manual data entry!
