Step 2: Access the Opportunities Section
On the left sidebar, click on "Opportunities".
This will take you to your sales pipeline where all your opportunities are displayed.
Step 3: Locate the Opportunity You Want to Edit
Browse or search for the specific Opportunity.
Use filters if needed to narrow down the pipeline view.
Step 4: Click on the Opportunity Card
Once you find the Opportunity, click on the card to open its details.
Step 5: Edit the Opportunity
Look for the “Edit” button (usually a pencil icon ? or under an "Actions" menu).
Click Edit to modify the Opportunity settings.
Step 6: Change the Primary Contact
Find the field labeled “Primary Contact” or “Contact”.
Click inside this field and:
Search for the new contact.
Or select the correct contact from the dropdown.
⚡ Tip: If the new contact isn’t in your system yet, create it first under the Contacts section.
Step 7: Save the Changes
Click "Save" to apply the update.
Step 8: Verify the Change
Double-check that the correct Primary Contact is now showing on the Opportunity.
Review any linked workflows or tasks that might be affected.
? Common Scenarios Where You’d Change the Primary Contact
✅ 1. Change of Representative
Your client assigns a new point of contact (e.g., Sarah replaces John as your main person).
Common in children handing off the Primary contact from one parent to another
✅ 2. Mistaken Contact at First
The Opportunity was originally created under the wrong contact.
✅ 3. Multiple Contacts Involved
You started with one contact but the negotiation shifted to another person
✅ 4. Merging Duplicates
You noticed you have duplicate contacts and you want to consolidate the Opportunity under the correct profile.
