What is A2P Registration?
A2P 10DLC (10-digit long code) registration is required for any business using text messaging to communicate with customers in the U.S. It ensures your messages are delivered reliably and are in compliance with carrier rules.
⚡ You can access the compliant Privacy Policy Templates HERE. ⚡
Carriers like AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile have introduced A2P regulations to:
Combat spam and scam text messages
Ensure only legitimate businesses can send SMS at scale
Protect consumers and maintain trust in the messaging ecosystem
Carriers have been increasingly strict with requirements over the past few years, with heightened scrutiny in 2025. It's essential your business meets these new standards to avoid rejection or message filtering.
✅ The A2P Registration Process
A2P registration includes two major steps:
1. Brand Verification
Carriers verify your business details (legal name, EIN, etc.) against IRS records to confirm legitimacy.
2. Campaign Vetting
Your SMS use case is reviewed manually to ensure compliance. Carriers now examine your website and digital presence more strictly than ever before.
? New Carrier Requirements in 2025
Follow these best practices to avoid delays or rejections in your A2P registration:
1️⃣ Ensure Brand Consistency Across All Touchpoints
Your Legal Business Name, website domain, and email domain must all align.
Any inconsistencies (e.g., mismatched business and domain names) may lead to rejection.
2️⃣ Website Must Clearly Establish Business Legitimacy
Your website should:
Clearly display your business name and contact info
Ensure these details match your registration info (email, phone, address)
Adding Details about your business
This helps carriers quickly verify that you're a real, operating business.
3️⃣ Privacy Policy & Terms & Conditions Are Mandatory
Your site must include:
A Privacy Policy detailing how you collect, store, and use personal data.
To comply with carrier requirements, it is essential to update your website with a privacy policy that meets regulatory requirements. Ensure there is a clearly visible and easily accessible link to this policy on your homepage. This practice not only promotes transparency but also demonstrates your commitment to adhering to industry regulations and safeguarding user data.
Ensure that your privacy policy includes a "Data Security" disclaimer, explicitly stating that there will be no sharing of personally identifiable information with third parties or affiliates for re-marketing purposes. One of the most common reasons for rejection is the absence of this disclaimer.
⚡ You can access the compliant Privacy Policy page sample on the link HERE.A Terms & Conditions (or "Terms of Use") page explaining your services and legal disclaimers
This page should include important details like:Business (Brand) Name
Product Description
Message Frequency Disclosure
Message and Data Rates May apply
Customer Care Contact Information (email or toll-free number)
Opt-Out Instructions (Reply STOP to opt-out)
Make sure there's a clearly visible link to these terms on your website's homepage. This helps show you're open about how things work and helps people understand the rules for using your service.
⚡ You may also find a compliant Terms and Conditions sample on the following LINK.
Missing either may result in your application being flagged or rejected & delaying the registration process preventing you from texting via TheraSaaS.
4️⃣ All Data Collection Forms Must Include Consent Checkboxes
If you collect user info via any form (newsletter signup, lead intake, contact form), you must include:
✅ A manual checkbox users must tick (not pre-checked)
✅ Clear disclaimer text linking to your Privacy Policy and Terms
✅ Sample compliant checkbox language (see below)
★ Compliant Opt-In Verbiage Samples ★
Use the exact language below to stay in compliance. Do not edit these statements.
NOTE to Practice Owner: We understand that MOST TheraSaaS users will not be using SMS more marketing purposes. However, the cell phone companies do not see it that way. Even if you don’t plan to use SMS for ONLY communication purposes, we still have to cover ourselves in the event that you do use it for marketing purposes (e.g. promote a new group class, or a free training).
Checkbox 1
By checking this box, I consent to receive transactional messages related to my account, orders, or services I have requested from Registered Business Name PLLC. These messages may include appointment reminders, order confirmations, and account notifications among others. Message frequency may vary. Message & Data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt-out.
Checkbox 2
By checking this box, I consent to receive marketing and promotional messages, including special offers, discounts, new product updates among others from Registered Business Name, PLLC. Message frequency may vary. Message & Data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt-out.
Note: The checkbox is required because it represents a manual action by the visitor, confirming they are explicitly providing consent to receive messages from your business. This step is essential to comply with carrier regulations and consumer protection laws.
✅ Why This Matters
Staying compliant with A2P regulations is more than just a checkbox—it's essential to:
Prevent delivery issues or blocks
Protect your brand reputation
Ensure legal compliance with TCPA and carrier rules
Get your SMS campaigns up and running faster
Note: It may take anywhere between 3 to 5 weeks for the newly IRS registered EIN information to be updated/recognized by the carriers' records.
