Currently, there is no direct way to change the assigned owner for contacts in bulk. However, you can create an automation using Tags to facilitate this process. Please note that this method will update the assigned user for contacts but will not affect the assigned user in opportunities.
Step 1: Create an Automation
To streamline the process of changing the assigned owner for contacts, you need to create an automation with specific triggers and actions.
Navigate to the Automation Section
Open the automation settings in your system.
Click on Create New Automation.
Set the Trigger
Choose Contact Tag as the trigger.
Set the tag to Old User (this will serve as the identifier for contacts that need reassignment).
Add the Following Actions
Action 1: Remove Assigned User
This step ensures that the current owner is unassigned before assigning a new one.
Action 2: Assign User
Select Assign to New User and specify the new assigned owner.
Action 3: Remove Tag - Old User
Once the contact has been reassigned, remove the Old User tag to prevent future unintended automation.
Action 4: Remove from Workflow
This step ensures that the contact is no longer affected by the automation after the change.
Save and Activate the Automation
Click Save and ensure the automation is active.
Step 2: Identify the Contacts to Update
Go to the Contacts Section
Navigate to your contacts list.
Filter the Contacts by Assigned User
Apply a filter to display only contacts assigned to the Old User.
Step 3: Apply the Tag for Automation
Select All Contacts in the Filtered List
Check all the contacts that are currently assigned to the old user.
Bulk Add the "Old User" Tag
Apply the Old User tag to the selected contacts.
This action will trigger the automation created in Step 1.
Step 4: Wait for the Automation to Complete
Allow the automation to process the contacts.
Once completed, verify that the new assigned user has been updated correctly.
By following these steps, you can efficiently reassign contact owners without manually changing each one individually.
