This guide outlines the process of assigning a dedicated phone number to a user within your system. Each user can have only one dedicated number, and all calls to that number will be routed to the assigned user, regardless of contact ownership.
Steps to Assign a Phone Number
Step 1: Add a New Phone Number
Navigate to Location Settings.
Select Phone Numbers.
Click on Add Number to purchase a new phone number.
Step 2: Assign the Phone Number to a User
Go to My Staff.
Select Team Management.
Edit the user to whom you want to assign the phone number.
Step 3: Configure Call & Voicemail Settings
Expand the Call & Voicemail Settings section.
Step 4: Select the Phone Number
Click on the dropdown to select the phone number.
Choose the number you purchased for the user.
Important Notes
Each user can be assigned only one phone number.
Once assigned, all calls to that number will be routed to the user, even if the contact is assigned to a different user.
If any of your only has account "User" permissions, you won't be able to use both numbers for texting if one number has already been assigned to someone else. Only account admins may be able to send a text message through both numbers. If you need access to the other number, speak with one of your admins to request a change in your user permissions.
